Join us as we spend time with Heather Kennedy…speaker, writer, vlogger, and highly-respected Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Advocate
When I was first (mis)diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease six years ago, I was overwhelmed, lost, and seeking out information and support.
One of the first things I came across that felt meaningful to me was a video posted by Heather Kennedy. The video was so impactful and I wanted…I needed…to know more about her story. Over the last six years, I am so lucky to say that not only have I gotten to know Heather Kennedy’s story…I am blessed to call her a mentor and a friend.
Heather, who writes under the name and website Kathleen Kiddo, has been a force in the Parkinson’s community, partnering with some of the biggest, and most respected, names and organizations in the community.
Unforgettable names like the Davis Phinney Foundation, the World Parkinson Congress, and the Parkinson’s Foundation.
When Mark I first began even thinking of this podcast, he asked, “who would be your dream guest?”.
Without a second thought…it was Heather.
Unfortunately, around the same time we launched our podcast, Heather shared this news with her friends, readers, and followers.
“It has been a privilege to volunteer within our Parkinson’s community all these years. Counting among many blessings, the fortune of meeting thousands of extraordinary resilient and generous human beings! Since DBS my health has been in steep decline, and it is time to bow out.
Through writing and an upcoming podcast you can access limited content. I will forever be grateful for your support.
#farewell – Heather Kennedy”
The “upcoming podcast” she mentioned in her sign-off as a treasured advocate and ambassador…?!?
That upcoming podcast is “Making It Meaningful – The Podcast”.
OUR podcast!
And…it released on Thursday, 2.8.24!
This is a literal dream come true for me.
Thank you, Heather, for everything you mean to me and everything you mean to the Parkinson’s community.
You are a treasure.
